Satori Architects is a boutique full-service architectural practice based in Auckland, New Zealand, specialising in creating innovative, meaningful and timeless architecture.
All projects are unique, and our agile team strives to deliver design excellence for each piece of architecture. Our ethos is rooted in our commitment to providing high-quality, personalised service, with the essence of architectural eureka emerging from a collaborative process between the client and the architect.
‘Satori’ in Zen Buddhism is defined by the inner, intuitive experience of enlightenment.
The studio is led by E J (Yi-Jan) Lien, NZ-raised kiwi-asian, graduated from The University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Architecture (Honours).
The breadth of past Australasian work experience over the last 18 years includes renowned New Zealand-based firms such as Herbst Architects and Patterson Associates, as well as Australian-based firms BVN, Francis-Jones Morhen Thorpe (FJMT), and Johnson Pilton Walker (JPW). This breadth of knowledge and experience paved the way for him to become the Principal Architect of The Development Collective and ultimately founded SATORI Architects.
Satori Architects is a New Zealand Institute of Architecture Registered Practice.
